I Love My Nails

I directed the animated music video for Netta’s “I Love My Nails,” a trip that starts with a single teardrop hitting a broken fingernail and unravels into scenes from Netta riding a jellyfish in the deep ocean to her cowboy-riding a nail rocket in a little Dr. Strangelove tribute! I tried to mirror the spirit of the song by using this surprising nail metaphor to express real, raw feelings about heartbreak, because sometimes those emotions hit harder under a playful exterior.
